Silkmore
This scheme of 4 bespoke, detached dwellings at the site of Silkmore House, a Grade II Listed property was designed on behalf of our client Hawksmoor Homes, a local developer.
Taking cues from the neighbourhood plan, we settled on a development of distinctive detached dwellings that created a thread of consistency that drew on the architectural merit of the host property – Silkmore House. Its most characteristic element is the exposed timber frame, particularly well demonstrated on the eastern façade, facing Silkmore Lane. All four of the dwellings on site feature timber details that set them apart as very high quality, as well as give a nod to the host property.
A full planning application was submitted in January 2020 and was approved in September 2020. Work on the project is now complete and all dwellings are built.
