Approval for 5 Bespoke Dwellings in Send, Guildford

Our client Hawksmoor Homes received approval at committee for a development of 5 new bespoke dwellings that follow a hierarchy of cottages, barns and farmhouse in Send, Guildford.
The proposed development and design approach carefully considered the reasons for refusal of the previously submitted scheme and pays regard to the site’s rural setting and looks to enhance the sense of place with high quality public realm and individually designed houses.
The design response by OSP included a surrey vernacular and rural approach, consistent with the visions of the Send Neighbourhood Development Plan and a much lower density than the previously refused scheme.
As part of the scheme, all boundary trees will be retained, a central pond will be introduced as a focus for all the dwellings, as well as a proposed orchard adjacent to the site access and numerous new tree planting.
Guildford Borough Council approved the scheme in January 2024.
