Residential development of 173 dwellings

Following the closure of the 19 ½ acre distribution and storage facility adjacent to Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve, planning permission was granted for a development comprising 4,500 sq metres commercial space, 500 sq metres medical or community facility and up to 500 residential dwellings. Arranged over 3 plateaux, the proposed development has had to take into account the slope of the site by carefully considering roof heights and the inclusion of undercroft parking. The character and appearance of the development followed an extensive study of the adjacent village and the guidelines of the Kent Design Guide. The provision of large areas of ecological / landscape spaces within the new development help to preserve and enhance the landscape character of the adjacent ancient woodland and Wildlife Reserve.
